The Shearwater Perdix AI dive computer reports an "algorithm switching error" with "gas not adding correctly", indicating a critical failure in gas management or the decompression algorithm. The most probable cause (50%) is a firmware/software glitch or corruption, often after incomplete updates or due to environmental stress. This error compromises diving safety by making decompression calculations unreliable. Less probable, but possible, are hardware malfunctions of the Shearwater Perdix AI Mainboard or the Shearwater Perdix AI Pressure Sensor. Also, communication problems with the AI transmitter can cause similar symptoms. The intervention requires tools such as a Precision screwdriver set and an Antistatic mat, in addition to a Shearwater Perdix AI Battery Compartment Seal Kit for reassembly.
