⚠️ WARNING / FIRE HAZARD. This device contains lithium batteries. Improper puncturing or bending during disassembly can cause explosions or flames. The intervention requires precision and assistance from a specialized technician is recommended. ReeFix provides this diagnosis EXCLUSIVELY for educational and informational purposes.
HIGH PRIORITY
1. External Charger (Failure Probability: 20%)
The charger is the starting point of the power chain. A failure here blocks all charging.
Quick Checks:
Check the cable: Inspect the cable for cuts, bends, or connector damage. Ensure it is properly inserted into the outlet and the Kärcher WV 6 Premium. A damaged cable is a frequent and trivial cause.
Voltage test: If the charger has an indicator light, check that it turns on. With a multimeter, measure the output voltage: it must match the nominal voltage (e.g., 5V, 12V) indicated on the label of the Kärcher WV 6 Premium Charger.
Key signs: No light on the charger, damaged cable, multimeter reading 0V or incorrect voltage.
2. Internal Battery (Failure Probability: 60-75%)
If the charger is working correctly, the battery is the most probable cause of the charging failure.
Symptoms and checks: The Kärcher WV 6 Premium does not turn on, shows no signs of life when connected, or drains almost immediately after a brief start-up.
Internal inspection (with caution!): If the charger has passed the test, the problem is almost certainly the battery. To check it, the device must be opened (requires a set of precision screwdrivers and plastic opening tools). Once the casing is open, locate the Kärcher WV 6 Premium Battery.
Signs of degradation: Look for swelling, liquid leakage, or signs of overheating on the battery. Measure the voltage at its terminals with a multimeter; if it is much lower than the nominal value (e.g., 3.7V or 7.4V), it is almost certainly faulty.
Often happens when: The device is more than two years old or has been left discharged for long periods. Lithium batteries have a limited lifespan and degrade even when not in use.
Safety notes: NEVER attempt to force or puncture a lithium battery, especially if swollen. Handle it with extreme caution to avoid fire or explosion risks.
MEDIUM PRIORITY
Charging Circuit on Motherboard (Failure Probability: 10%)
If both the charger and the battery have been checked and are working, the problem likely lies in the internal charging circuit. This component manages the flow of energy to the battery.
Quick checks: Look for signs of burns, damaged components, or oxidation around the charging connector on the PCB (motherboard). This check requires precision and, ideally, the experience of an expert technician.
Counter-examples: If the Kärcher WV 6 Premium turns on with a new, charged battery, but does not charge when connected, the charging circuit is the main suspect.
LOW PRIORITY
Squeegee Blade (Failure Probability: 10% - Not related to charging)
This problem does not prevent charging but is often associated with prolonged use of the device.
Quick checks: If the device leaves streaks during use, inspect the Kärcher WV 6 Premium Squeegee Blade. Look for cuts, hardening, caked-on dirt, or uneven wear. The blade should be soft and have a smooth, uniform edge.
Operational Decision:
If the charger is faulty (HIGH PRIORITY, point 1) -> Repair yourself by replacing the charger;
If the battery is faulty (HIGH PRIORITY, point 2) -> Repair yourself if you have experience and tools for lithium batteries, otherwise contact a technician for replacement;
If the charging circuit is faulty (MEDIUM PRIORITY) -> Contact a technician for motherboard diagnosis and repair or replace the device if the repair cost is high;
If the squeegee blade is worn (LOW PRIORITY) -> Repair yourself by replacing the blade.
