Your Rocket Appartamento presents two common problems: excessive pump noise and E61 group head leak.
E61 Leak (60% probability): The most frequent cause is a hardened E61 group head gasket or worn E61 cam lever O-rings. These rubber components degrade over time and heat, a common phenomenon after 6-12 months of intense use. Replacement is a DIY intervention of medium difficulty, with inexpensive spare parts.
Pump Noise (35% probability): Often indicates wear of the Ulka EX5 vibration pump or its anti-vibration mounts. Less likely, but possible, is air ingress or limescale buildup. If the noise is a loud hum or screech, the pump might be at the end of its operational cycle. Pump replacement is more complex and requires caution.
Operational Decision: If the leak is evident from the gasket or cam lever, you can attempt a DIY repair (low cost). If the pump noise is excessive and constant, or the leak persists after gasket replacement, consult a technician. Replace the device only if the quote exceeds 70% of the new value.
