Flash Diagnosis: Sonos Beam Gen 2 - No Audio from HDMI ARC
The "no audio" problem from the Sonos Beam Gen 2 via HDMI ARC/eARC (with or without "dropout error") mainly stems from three causes.
Defective HDMI cable (40%): Often manifests as intermittent or total audio loss after moving the cable. An unsuitable or damaged Certified HDMI 2.1 Cable is the most common culprit.
Software/Firmware Glitch (30%): If the problem started after a TV or Beam firmware update, or if a restart temporarily resolves it, a bug is likely.
Physical HDMI port damage (20%): Bent/corroded pins on the HDMI port of the Beam Gen 2 or the TV make the connection unstable.
Quick checks: Try replacing the HDMI cable with a new, certified one. Perform a complete power cycle (unplug both devices from the mains). Check and update the firmware of both TV and Sonos Beam. If the problem persists, try a factory reset of both.
